This is the pellet, that sits in the cooling pools, at San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS).

The pellet that blew away Fukushima, Chernobyl, and very nearly destroyed Three-Mile Island.

There are 1,400 tons of these little monsters, cooling in SONGS’s leaky, creaky, earthquake prone, tsunami threatened, God knows what else could go wrong at America’s Worst Nuclear Workplace Environment, right here in Southern Cal – dead center between LA and San Diego, that 8.4 million people call home.

Should the little monsters “Meltdown” like in those other sad places, everyone leaves. And no one comes back — ever.
